Do you like being out in the rain?

Just thought I'd ask if you like being in the rain. I don't mind a bit of rain but tonight Mom and I were walking, it was nice and sunny when we went out but then it went dark and it rained really heavy like hail stones. It was bouncing off the floor and I got soaked, it frightened me and I ran all the way home.

But I don't mind getting wet when I go in the sea:

Got myself into a bit of a mess didn't I, LOL!!! It was great fun. I went to the beach with my sister Lottie and Sally the Labradoodle (they belong to my Mom's son) and Sally ran into the sea and Lottie and I ran after her. Lottie chickened out a bit and didn't go in very far but I ran right in and jumped over the waves and everything. Mom kept blowing the whistle for me to go back but I pretended I was deaf and ignored her. Then when I got out of the water I lay down in the sand and got really mucky ha ha!

There was only one thing that spoiled it. When we got home I was dripping wet and very dirty and Mom gave me a bath then dried me. I looked all nice and fluffy and clean after though:

Mom said that was better. I did feel nice but I had so much fun in the sea I went back and did it again the next day when I went out to play with Lottie and Sally again ha ha!

Then when I went to the beach this morning (just me and the humans) I chased some seagulls and ended up in the sea again. So that's twice I got wet today. Mom said something about giving me another bath tomorrow. I think I may have to go and hide.

Now would you like to see a present I had the other day? It's a water fountain. I've always liked drinking from taps and the hosepipe, and when Mom fills the birdbath and it overflows I like to catch the water so she got me one of these:

I wasn't quite sure what it was at first. It made a funny trickling sound so I just watched it for a bit. Then I went over to have a closer look:

It seemed alright so I had a sniff:

And then I had a taste:

It's really nice to drink running water, I love my water fountain. I let Tilly the cat drink from it but she only drinks from the bowl at the bottom not the waterfall, she's silly!

I'll have to go now because it's my bedtime. I have to get up early and bark to let Mom and Dad know that it's light 'cos the sun comes out earlier in the morning now. Dad really likes getting up at 5.30am but some days I let him lie in until 6.30am.

If you go down to the woods today

You wont believe what you see
Lots of lovely bluebells
And gorgeous little me!

Hello lovely humans, I want to tell you about what I did today.

Well, we've had lots of wind the last couple of days and today it was really gusty winds all day. We normally go to the beach and I have a lovely run but it was so windy it was like a sandstorm. When it's like that it gets in your hair and your mouth and your eyes so we couldn't go there today. So we went to the woods instead, only 10 minutes in the car (no, I wasn't sick, I can do 10 minutes) and it was full of bluebells. Don't forget to clicky on the pictures if you want to see them bigger:

Isn't that pretty? And they smelled nice too. Want to see some more?

This is where we started off, Mom is in front. She didn't really need her coat as it was so sheltered and warm but she found the pockets useful for my treats and lead and stuff. Can you see my harness? I hate it. I refuse to walk with it on and just lie down. Mom keeps trying every so often but I prefer my collar so I'm not going anywhere with my harness on. I lay down just after this photo was taken and let them go on without me. They soon gave up and came back and took it off:

Here I am with Dad. Can you see the little stream, there were lots of bluebells on the other side:

Dad playing hide and seek but I found him:

I paddled across the stream:

Come on Mom, hurry up:

I was snuffling in all the leaves and ended up with them all over my face and ears:

I also found some dog poo and ate it. Mom said "Drop it" but I wouldn't and I ran away with it. She wouldn't let me kiss her later on, I wonder why? Anyway, she said I had a stinky bum tonight - I wondered what the smell was 'cos I've never pop-popped before. They had to open the window and door and light a candle. Perhaps I'd better not eat any more, I don't think I was too popular tonight.

It's still really windy now so I didn't get to the beach tonight either, we went to the nature reserve instead 'cos there's no sand there. I hope I can go back to the beach tomorrow.

Come back soon, I want to tell you all about my new food.

Woofs and puppy cuddles.

What a tiring day!

The weather has been really lovely here today so we went for a really loooooooong walk in the woods this morning. The bluebells aren't out yet but there are squillions of dead leaves and they make lovely rustly sounds when you run through them.

We walked round to get to the car - I don't like going in the car and when I saw it I plonked my botty on the ground and thought "No way - it's Friday and there's the car", the last two Fridays we've gone out in the car and I ended up at the vets. There was no way I wanted to go again today. Well I did walk to the car eventually but I made Mom and Dad wait for me! Anyway, we turned left out of the road instead of right so I knew it wasn't the vets.

It took ten minutes to drive to the woods (oh goody - not enough time to be sick!) then five minutes walk and there we were. Acres and acres for me to run and sniff, I didn't meet any dogs today, it was just us. I also had a paddle in the stream and had a lovely drink from it, it was nice and cool and tasted lovely. Silly Mom and Dad didn't take the camera, I'll tell them to take it next time.

We walked in the woods for about 45 minutes then started to walk back. On the last little bit where the path joins the lane, guess what I did? Bet you can't! I saw some horse poo and tasted it - ha ha, Mom said I was a dirty girl. Then as we walked down the lane I went on the grass verge and found a sticky dog poo and wiped my face in it. The humans weren't too please about that I can tell you! Mom said "Bath for you when we get home" and she meant it too!

So I had a bath, was quite good being washed, but I don't really like the hairdryer so played up a bit then. After I was dried I was really really pooped so I jumped up on my special little bed that goes on the sofa and had a really big snoozle in the sun.

Hey, did you see my operation scar? It's one week since my stitches came out and two and a half weeks since my operation. It's looking quite neat don't you think? Here's a closer photo.

If you clicky on the photo it makes it bigger and you can see better. Do you like my spotty tummy?

We went for a walk on the beach tonight, there was a sea mist so it was a bit cold and you couldn't see very far. We were out for 45 minutes and it was dark when we got back.

I've had a busy day and I'm tired now so I think I might go to bed.

Night night, licky kisses (I don't smell of horse poo now!).

Woo hoo! I've had my stitches out!

I had to go back to the vets yesterday, I really didn't want to go in there but I'm glad I did as I had my stitches out. It didn't hurt and I feel so much better now 'cos they were a bit tight. I still have stitches inside my tummy but they will dissolve. Wanna see my tummy?

Can you see where the stitches were? Mom asked the vet if I could run around again now and she said yes, even at 90mph on the beach - yay! She said I could even skateboard if I wanted to - now that's really silly 'cos I've only just learned to ride my bike and I haven't got a skateboard yet - ha ha! And guess what I did on the way back - I was sick (yuk). Even though I had half a ginger root capsule! I wasn't sick on the way there so that was good 'cos it's nearly an hour's drive away but I really couldn't help it on the way back.

So I went to the beach this morning, there were quite a few people and dogs there but I met up with my friend Ruby (she's a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and she's really tiny) and we had a little play and run around together. I didn't run and play as much as I normally do, I think my inside stitches are making me a bit uncomfortable. I played a bit then lay down, then walked a bit and lay down, then played a bit more. On the walk back home I met a Jack Russell Terrier and we sniffed noses but he barked at me, that wasn't nice was it? I had a lovely long snooze when I got back.

Oooh, I gotta go, Dad wants to play, I suppose I'd better go and keep him amused!

Cuddles and licky kisses to you. Thank you for coming to see me.

I've had a pressie

Hello again. I'm feeling a lot better now. I slept a lot on Wednesday but by Wednesday night I was not sleepy any more. I had a couple of little walks which was nice but I don't know why I can't go and run on the beach. Mom said I've got to heal properly and I can't get sand in my incision. Guess I'll have to wait then but I had a nice walk round the little nature reserve today and met another Bichon, I was very good and didn't get all bouncy or jump up. I still keep licking my tummy but I haven't pulled any stitches out. If Mom catches me licking she says "Ah ah, leave it" so I give her the sideways white eyes look and then sulk ha ha!

The postman brought me a parcel this morning. It was a stag bar. Mom thought I deserved a present as I'd had my operation.

They are antlers from stags, they fall off naturally so they don't kill them just for the antlers. They are hard like bones and are really nice to gnaw on. Mom says they're good 'cos they're clean and don't muck the carpet up and they help keep my teeth clean. Would you like to see me with my stag bar?

I love my stag bar.

I had to go back to the vets this afternoon for her to check on my stitches. I was a bit worried I was going to be left there again so I hid under the chair. The vet laughed at me and tried to get me to come out. Mom told me she wouldn't leave me so I went into the other room and let the vet look at my tummy. She said it was very good. I still have to be careful for another week then I will have my stitches out.

The vet said to try ginger root capsules for my car sickness, so Mom took half of the powder out of a capsule and mixed it with some yogurt (yum!) and I licked that out of the bowl. I got all the way to the vets (nearly an hour) without being sick. We stopped on the way back to have a little walk at Dolgoch Falls but just a couple of minutes away from home I was sick. No food 'cos I hadn't eaten my brekkie this morning (I wasn't hungry) but I managed to projectile vomit quite a lot of bile. Mom said well done for going nearly two hours without being sick, then she washed the towels I sit on in the car.

Gotta go now, Mom has to go to bed.

I'm not a happy puppy!

On Monday I went to Julie's to be groomed again. I was really mucky 'cos I love sliding in the sand on the beach when I chase my ball and even though Mom brushes me every day I still get dirty. This is me when I came back from Julie's - I pinched a chew stick while I was there but she didn't mind, she let me bring it home:

My coat is nice this length 'cos there isn't much to get tangled up and it doesn't take long to brush me.

Now Tuesday was a different story. We went for a ride in the car, I went almost an hour before I was sick but I didn't have any brekkie. I didn't know it but we were going to the vets for me to get spayed. We sat waiting and a poor doggie came in who had eaten rat poison and they had to make her sick - bluegh - I know all about sick! Then it was my turn and we went into a room to talk to a lady while I sat on the table. Mom signed a form then went away. I was taken into another room and put into a crate for a while. I missed my Mom and Dad and was barking and crying for them.

Later on I was taken for my operation, I can't tell you anything about it 'cos I was asleep but I didn't like having the needle in my paw. The vet said I was a drama queen, not sure what that means but my Mom said I'm not at home. I just wanted my Mom and Dad.

This was my tummy before:

and this is my tummy now:

Can you see the stitches where they sewed me up? I keep trying to get at them 'cos I don't like them and I've got a sore tummy and it's making me jump. The vet forgot to do my microchip when I was asleep and said she wouldn't do it when I was awake because I was very sensitive and it would traumatise me.

I was very tired when Mom and Dad came back to fetch me and when we got home I went onto my mattress:

Then I asked to go on the sofa:

I couldn't get comfortable so I went back on the carpet and had a big snoozle on there.

The vet didn't put a collar on me (you know, like a bucket on your head) 'cos she said it would traumatise me again. So Mom altered a little t-shirt for me and I had that on last night. This is me when I went to bed, then Mom and Dad went to bed:

Do you like my t-shirt? I don't! It didn't quite cover my tummy and Mom says she thinks I have licked my stitches - ha ha - not telling her! Anyway, I tried to get it off but only managed to get my front paws out, so instead I went into my crate and got my blanket out and dragged it round the room!

I've had my breakfast but I'm still sleepy and feeling sorry for myself. I need another nap now so I've got to go.

See you soon. Woofs and kisses X X

Lots to tell you

I'm sitting here crunching my carrot and I thought I'd come along and tell you what's been going on lately.

First of all, here's me and my lovely carrot:

They're very good for fibre you know! I get them grated into my food as well, and some other veggies, but I really enjoyed having a whole one to crunch today. I get dried tripe sticks sometimes and they are yummy too but mom says they are stinky!

Now I can tell you about my Poochie Bells. This is what Poochie Bells are:

They hang from the door handle and when I want to go outside to the toilet (or just to sit and watch the world go by 'cos that's a favourite thing of mine) then I ring the bells with my nose and mom or dad comes and opens the door for me. When I first had them they had to teach me to do it and said "Outside - ring the bell" and would open the door. It took me a little while to understand what it was all about but now I've got the hang of it it's really good, they can be in another room and they hear the bells and come and open the door. This is me ringing the bells:

Now, what else was there? Oh yes, I've been on a train, twice! Do you remember me telling you how I was always sick in the car if we went very far? Well, I'm still no better even when I know we're going somewhere nice to play. Now, I've got to have an operation next week (it's called spaying) and mom and dad don't like the local vets. The other vets are an hour's drive away and I would be really icky sicky if I went that far. It's only half an hour on the train to the new vets so we did a trial run last week. Only two stations the first time which took about 8 minutes, then we had a walk round and came back half an hour later. Then the other day we went all the way to the new vets on the train, went and said hello to them and made my appointment for my operation, had a long walk around then the half hour train journey back. I quite like riding on the train, I don't feel sick and I'm very good 'cos I sit on mom's lap and look through the window.

Got to go now, I've got to have a little bark at the window cleaner. I'll come back and tell you all about my operation next week.

Love and woofs and licky kisses.
